Netherlands
Our first trip abroad on a 250cc Ariel Leader in 1962.
Been back several times, ridden along the Dykes, salt water on one side, fresh the other. Ate in the finest Chinese restaurant we have ever found, the "Sea Palace" in Amsterdam. Its on an old ferry boat in the harbour, and the décor has to be seen to be believed.
You will find 90% of the Dutch speak English, are very friendly , and generally like the Brits. BEWARE OF ROUNDABOUTS, those entering them have right of way. Bloody Silly, and even Dutch Bikers dont like the idea.
Plenty of places to visit, if you like Windmills, wartime history(Arnhem) Canals, friendly Bars, Football (Sundays) River trips, the Red Light district of Amsterdam, and Shopping, Keep your bike well locked though.
I smoked my first Joint in a Bar in Amsterdam, it just gave me a headache. Not my scene, I get my kicks riding a motorcycle too fast, Vodka, and shooting 8 Ball Pool. Gave up womanising, Im too old now.
